University Research and Enterprise

Client objective:

To review the organisation and processes of their Research and Enterprise Directorate to improve the  effectiveness of  collation, preparation and submission of research funding proposals and to improve the contractual consistency, recording and reporting of Consultancy work carried out by academic staff.


Our work highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of the existing organisation, processes and relationships between the Directorate and academic departments. Lean principles were applied to the processes and and a series of workshops held to redesign the organisation and processes with the result that improvements were made across all areas.
